The Prater amusement park is the most famous part of the Prater, with its numerous rollercoasters, merry-go-rounds, ghost trains, mirror cabinets and other family friendly rides. The Viennese ferris wheel from 1896, one of Vienna’s trademarks, can also be found here.
Unlike most amusement parks the Prater charges no admission fee, instead visitor pay for the attractions they want to visit. At the several small vendors around the park you can try out the beloved Hungarian specialty “Lángos” – a deep-fried flat bread. Also worth a visit is the Schweizerhaus, famous for its traditional “stelzen” (ham hocks).
